A Photographic Composition in 4 Acts
In an increasingly complex world, we are embedded in a dense web of information, perspectives, interests, and global developments. Some of these influences are within our power to shape, while many escape our control—yet all of them, consciously or unconsciously, mold our thoughts and actions. These four photographic compositions illustrate specific individual and collective interconnections within the Central European landscape: Nature and Environment, Digitalization, War, and Art & Imagination. I utilized photography and image composing as my primary means of artistic expression.
A sculpture appears in each image as a unifying element—real, publicly accessible artworks that I have photographically transposed into new contexts. These sculptures act as silent observers amidst the multifaceted mosaics that define our present day. They include: Miminka (The Babies) by David Černý (Prague, 2000), Čtenář (The Reader) by Kurt Gebauer (Prague, 2005), Hejno (The Flock) by Michal Gabriel (Brno, 2017) and Papagena by Josef Magnus (Salzburg, 1984).
The series was originally presented in the group exhibition „Mosaics of Networks“ at the bv Art Berchtoldvilla in Salzburg (November/December 2025).
